Your next project...

The next project I'm going to set you is about TV title sequences. You need to research, plan and create an animated storyboard for a new fictional TV show in one of the following genres:
  • Science Fiction
  • Horror
  • Thriller
  • Teenage
You will need to demonstrate evidence of detailed research into different title sequences within the genre you have chosen (at least 4 or 5) deconstructing them and explaining how they are designed to communicate ideas about the programme being presented as well as generating audience interest. You also need to explain what the conventions are of these title sequences (what would you expect to see?) Are all title sequences in your chosen genre the same, or are there differences?

You will then need to create your storyboard and use this as the basis of an animatic (an animated version) which you can create using Premiere, iMovie or Windows Live Movie maker (or photostory 3). As an extension task, you could shoot the sequence if you want, although you only have two weeks (plus half term) to complete this project.

Once you have completed your animatic, you will need to explain how your work replicates the conventions of existing title sequences by drawing clear parallels with your project and the research you did. Your deadline for completion will be the end of half term.
