Induction Task

By the end of next week (Friday 1st October), you should all have completed the following tasks:
  • Set up a blog on Blogspot and posted your response to the Movie Treatment task
  • Shot, edited, rendered and uploaded a video demonstrating a number of different shot-types (as a member of a group)
    • As part of your blog entry, you should mention any difficulties you had and how you overcame them
  • Shot, edited, rendered and uploaded a video demonstrating a number of different types of camera movement (again, as a member of a group)
    • Again, as part of your blog entry, you should mention any difficulties you had and how you overcame them
Any individual who has not completed all three tasks by the end of next week will be deemed to have not met the needs of the induction project and will have their name passed to Mr Ward and Mrs Gibson; this may lead to a contract being issued.

If you have any problems with any aspect of any of these tasks, please speak to me or e-mail me (chris.earl@fram.durham.sch.uk).

The video above was produced using Xtranormal, a script-to-video rendering site. It's free to use at a basic level and allows you to create simple animatics with basic camera angles. It took me about 10 minutes to programme the video above.

Booking Cameras

Please remember the protocols for booking cameras and tripods:
  • This should only be done via Mrs Gibson, not anyone else in Media or English
  • Kit should be booked at least 24 hours before required
  • Kit should be collected from and returned to Mrs Gibson ONLY, at a time of her convenience
If you are asked to book a camera for a lesson and fail to do so, you will be marked as "E" and sent away. This will start from next week. Tasks which require cameras will be introduced with at least 48 hours notice, and will be featured on this blog.
